Travel and Accommodation

The church and the brewery are 15 minutes apart by foot, or shorter by taxi. Both are fairly central within Exeter, so there are plenty of transport and accommodation options available.

Rail

Exeter St Davids is the national railway station for Exeter. It’s about 25 minutes by foot from the church, and 30 minutes from the brewery. Alternatively, you can get the train slightly closer to both locations: Exeter Central is about 10 minutes by foot from the church, and Exeter St Thomas is about the same from the brewery. There are taxi ranks by Exeter St Davids and Exeter Central, as well as several locations near the church. The city taxis are in red livery, but Uber and several traditional private taxi companies also operate in the city. Apple Taxis has an office in front of the station.

Bus

Megabus services, including the South West Falcon, run to Sowton Park and Ride, which is quite far from the centre of the city, but has internal bus connections. The National Express runs to Exeter Bus Station, which is close to the church. Buses also run regularly from Exeter St Davids to within 10 minutes’ walk of the church. No buses go directly from Exeter St Davids to the vicinity of the brewery, but you can get there that way.

Cars

The M5 runs to the East of Exeter. J29 and J30 are both options for the church, whilst J31 is the best option for the brewery. The Princesshay 2 car park is near the church and has Type 2 chargers. The nearest car park to the brewery is Havenbanks, which has no chargers. However, The Malt House is reasonably nearby and has Type 2, CHAdeMO and CCS2 chargers. Between the church and the brewery is Magdalen Street Car Park (not to be confused with the nearby Magdalen Road Car Park) which also houses a Type 2 charger.

Accommodation

There are several hotels in between the church and the brewery. The Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel, the Premier Inn Exeter City Centre Hotel, the White Hart (a Marston’s Inn) and the Hotel du Vin Exeter all surround Magdalen Street Car Park. In the leafier area up near the church there is the Southernhay House Hotel. Finally, for those coming by train, there is the Premier Inn Exeter Central St Davids, opposite the station.
